Mesotherapy Treatment For Eye Pads (Baggy Under Eye Tissue)

Sooner or later in life, most people will develop fatty tissue deposits just under the eyes. These puffy areas, in the area of the lower eyelids usually occur just below the eyelashes and there can be more than one area of fatty tissue, resulting in a doublet or triplet of fatty facial folds.  The result is a very tired and haggard look to the face.

Who is Suitable for Eye Pad Mesotherapy Treatments?

Sometimes men and women in their twenties can develop fatty under-eye pads, especially if they were overweight in their teens. However, the majority of the patients or clients that will be coming to you to get rid of these fatty deposits will be in their fifties as that is when these pas really start to affect a person’s appearance.

The good news is that eye pad mesotherapy is a suitable non-invasive way of treating eye bags for just about everyone with few side effects. Afterwards the person will have crinkly, maybe even puffier skin and it could be a bit discolored from bruising at the inaction site. These side effects disappear after one or two days. If the bruising is extreme, your patient can always apply a cold pack to the area after about ten hours.

It is also a good idea to tell your patient to avoid using makeup, such as concealer in the under eye area, for about 48 hours or until all swelling and bruising has disappeared from the area.  It is also a good idea for your patient to keep their fingers away from the treated area and avoid pulling or tugging on the treated flesh, which might seem a bit baggy or deflated in appearance at first.  Assure your patient that the skin will pull up tightly by itself as the mesotherapy ingredients take effect and help shrink the underlying fascia beneath the skin.

Eye Pad Mesotherapy Treatments Require Training and Skill

Although this is a very simple, fast treatment that takes less than fifteen minutes to accomplish, it also requires a bit of a tricky mesotherapy maneuver that must be learned from a true mesotherapy professional.  This is because accomplishing the injection involves the use of a ¾ inch 30-gauge needle that must be angle exactly right, or you could accidentally inject the mesotherapy solution into the eye. If you make this mistake, your client could lose the eyeball.

The needle that you use must not be flexible an injected at a perpendicular angle to the eyeball into the fatty tissue beneath the eye. You must never, ever point the needle straight at the eye pads and perform the injection.

In our Pinewood mesotherapy injection training courses, students are taught the right composition of solutions to use to assure the shrinking of the eye pads.  Mostly these cocktails contain phosphatidylcholine and sodium deoxycholate (PC/DC).  Aminophylline and procaine or lidocaine may also be added to the fat-reducing cocktail.

Using mesotherapy to reduce eye bags is so effective that many people do not even require a second treatment.  However, if they do, it is advisable to wait six weeks before another treatment.
