Mesotherapy, DHT Overproduction And Scalp Health

Thicker hair is the result of clearing DHT from the scalp.
One of the most effective ways to use mesotherapy is to improve scalp health by preventing it from losing hair due to the overproduction of DHT (Dihydrotestosterone.)  Injections of clearing substances can help remove the DHT that builds up on the scalp, so that the hair follicles can grow strands of hair again. DHT is a by-product of the hormone testosterone, and it is usually inactive.  However, it becomes active when the body is chemically imbalanced and under too much stress. The DHT hormone clogs the pores and in effect causes hair follicles to die off. The hair follicles shrink, never to produce a strand again, a situation that eventually leads to permanent baldness.

This is a process that takes quite some time, years in most cases, and it is reversible as long as the DHT build-up can be cleared as often as possible from the scalp. This is where mesotherapy can come in to help your client delay or put a complete stop to the overproduction of DHT.  Both men and women produce testosterone and suffer from DHT build-up, which is caused by raised cortisol levels, physical stress and emotional stress.

How Mesotherapy Clears DHT From the Scalp

Many different substances may be injected into the scalp, either through the use of a 30 gauge thin needle or by mestherapymesogun injection.  Generally, the scalp is treated with an injection every 1 centimeter on the area that is losing hair. Substances that directly clear DHT build-up from the scalp, such as Finasteride and Minoxidol are more effective at stopping baldness when injected transdermally, instead of just as a leave-in solution.  Other substances that help to maximize the absorption that could also be injected include vitamins and minerals, especially Vitamins C, E, B6 and folate, which is known to promote hair growth.

What to Tell Your Patient About Clearing DHT With Mesotherapy

In order to stop balding and grow hair back, your patient needs to have at least 16 treatments, once a week or more.  It is crucial that this series of treatments over four months is not interrupted by taking even one week off, as the DHT could build back up on the scalp and render all previous treatments ineffective.

Aside from stopping hair loss and renewed hair growth, your patient can expect less hair shedding, stronger hair and more hair volume.  The hair that grows in will likely be quite shiny and soft, due to the injections of vitamins.

In general, most people find mesotherapy on the scalp to be quite painless, except for a tickling or pricking feeling. Many people feel nothing at all. It is common for the scalp to feel like it is itching afterwards, which is the result of the skin on the scalp being stimulated by the mesotherapy treatment and causing increased circulation beneath the skin.
